On Wednesday KOTRA-Invest KOREA opened the Investment Consulting Center (ICC), a new service center for foreign investors that can provide a complete one-stop services to foreigners seeking to invest in or start a new business in the country.
The ICC located on the 2nd floor of the Invest Korea Plaza (IKP), next door to the headquarters of state-run Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Yangjae, southern Seoul.
“With the opening of the ICC, real one-stop service for potential foreign investors is now possible,” said Cho Hwan-eik, president of KOTRA.
“It will also help significantly upgrade our service for existing foreign investors.”
Previously providing investment consulting services such as visa extension and tax consultation, the ICC now additionally offers business registration, plant site search and free licensing and permit services, and consequently a practical one-stop service for foreign investors.
The Center will be manned by 22 officials from various government offices and agencies, such as the Ministries of Justice and Labor, the National Tax Service, and Korea Customs Service, who can provide all necessary information or services needed by any prospective investor.
External professional consultants from headhunting, accounting, law firms will also be available at ICC to serve the potential investors regularly and assist them with in-depth consultation regarding law, tax, labor, and so on.
For those unable to personally visit the center, the ICC also has a video conference room that can connect to all provincial and district government offices.
